Kevin and I woke up before the kids and took pictures of the evidence that Santa came...
I continue to love our tradition of filling the manger for baby Jesus by doing kind deeds, and the kids did a great job again this year...The kids were both wide awake at 7:30 and ready to head downstairs!
They don't love that I take pictures before they can head downstairs, so I think it's even funnier that Kevin took a picture of me doing my yearly pic, haha.
Brooke had asked for an American Girl doll and a parasol, which Santa delivered...Colby asked for a new bike, but he was also so excited for the marshmallow gun Brooke (and Daddy) made for him.
Kevin had mentioned a few months ago that he would like a growth chart with all the kids' stats, so I ordered one on Amazon and used the Patient Portal from their doctor's office to get the heights from their annual check-ups.This photo was not staged, Brooke was literally squealing and screaming about every single present. She also thanked us repeatedly for "the best presents." This set was from Nay Nay and Papa...
By the time we were done the living room was quite a mess, but in the best way :)
We devoured some warm cinnamon rolls, then the kids entertained themselves for hours with their new stuff. The best part was that Kevin and I could take a nap on the couch while the kids played nearby!I was largely unmotivated to get off the couch and get moving, but we were getting together again with family, so it was time to get ready and load up the car. Within 15 minutes of being in the car, Colby was OUT! Apparently we've been staying up too late and having too much fun...The kids played with their new stuff, ran around the backyard together...
Serenaded us with a new harmonica,,,
Sang to Daddy for an early birthday celebration...
Then passed out again on the way home, haha!
It was another great day with family! Holidays are the best, and it's especially nice when you have family close by to celebrate with.
