conference campout

We missed Conference Campout in the Spring because Covid was still very new and we weren't gathering as a family, so we were all happy to get back to our tradition. I always love watching the kids help with the set-up...
The Peacocks arrived as we were finishing with our tent, but they wanted to help Brooke and Colby with the finishing touches.
These cousins are adorable together...
Once the Peacock's tent was up, the game of musical tents began, haha.

I can't remember what we made for dinner Saturday night, but I do remember the cobbler we made.  It turned out a little soupy, but it was a good team effort and the kids were all excited to be involved.
The weather was beautiful and the guys even hung a new swing for Emery.
Ended the evening with some s'mores...
While the adults sat around the patio and chatted, the kids were off playing flashlight tag.  Honestly, I was a little surprised that they weren't scared to be out among the trees without the grownups!
The kids showered up, got cozy in their jammies, then read books before heading back out to the tents.  Colby loves that Kinley is always willing to read him a story.
Sleep tight, little ones!  When we crawled into bed, out mattress had definitely lost air. We filled it up again, but it only lasted a few hours into the night before losing air again, haha.
At least some of us were able to sleep like babies!
When they finally woke, they headed inside to find their cousins...
We loved this opportunity to spend time together while also listening to the wonderful Conference talks.  It's never quite as relaxing as I hope it will be, but I try my best to focus on the messages and find comfort in the fact that I can study the talks again in the coming months!
