Casa Mañana

Jerry and Bev started a tradition last year which I love.  They bought tickets for us to all go see a children's production at the Casa Mañana theater in Ft Worth.  We saw "Frosty the Snowman" last year, and even though Brooke was only 6 months old, she seemed to really like it.  The music was fun and she sat on my lap and just kicked her legs!  This year's performance was "Here Comes Santa Claus", which was actually based on Charles Dicken's novel, A Christmas Carol.  Honestly, the show was not quite as kid friendly as I imagined.  The content was just a bit over their heads, and there weren't as many songs that the kids would recognize until the end of the show.  But, the girls still had fun and we all enjoyed a special outing as a family.
And it was a great excuse to put Brooke in her cute Christmas dress again.
Brooke loved the big tree and train in the foyer.  And of course her Grandma and Papa...
Cute little cousins :)
Jerry and Bev also brought these booster seats for the girls, which helped a lot even though we had pretty great seats.  Brooke spent a good portion of the show on my lap as well though, because she was super tired as the show was smack dab in the middle of her nap time.  Despite this, she was good mannered and sat quietly during the show thanks to a much-needed intermission.  Little girls just need to get down and walk around sometimes :)  She took a cat nat on the way to dinner at Salt Grass, which was delicious as usual.  Towards the end of dinner, Brooke had no more patience left in her, so we finished our meal, jumped in the car, and Brooke was asleep in minutes.

I am sure we will go to the show again next year, and we will look forward to it.
