December was so filled with fun memories! Jeffrey, Madison, and Ellie came to visit us from Pittsburgh on December 17th, and stayed for 10 days. It was great to have them here, and Ellie is such a sweet little girl. Brooke was not used to sharing her toys/living space with anyone, so it was a bit of an adjustment the first few days. She was pretty possessive of her baby stroller, but eventually she learned to share that as well. Thankfully, Ellie just goes with the flow, and since we have a gazillion toys over here, they were both pretty happy.
The play area might have been the highlight of the zoo, haha. It was a beautiful day, but a lot of the animal enclosures are so large (a good thing for the animals), that it was hard for the little girls to spot the animals.
And I was REALLY disappointed that we didn't get to feed the giraffes. That was the whole reason we went to the Dallas Zoo vs. Fort Worth, but the zoo employee informed us that they weren't feeding the giraffes anymore that day because they weren't being compliant. Not sure what that meant, but I was bummed :(
But hey, who needs giraffes when you have these hideous wart hogs to look at, right?
Brooke was tuckered out after the zoo!
Not sure who had more fun at the park...Brooke, or her grandparents! They loved to play with her, and hear her little squeals in real time.
One afternoon, while Brooke was napping, Mom and I decided to go shopping for a few hours. We left Dad in charge in case Brooke woke up. We came home to find them like this :) Brooke is a big fan of watching videos on phones, and Papa has a zillion videos of Brooke, so she was in heaven.
Trying on NayNay's glasses! My Mom wanted to be called Grammie, but once Brooke started trying to say Grammie, it sounded more like Nannie, which then evolved into NayNay. The name stuck, so NayNay it is.
I love this picture my Mom took of me reading to Brooke. We have quite the Christmas book collection thanks to Grandma Meador and NayNay, and Brooke is always willing to sit and listen.
Naked baby!! Brooke thinks she is big stuff, and I think she's adorable, so this picture kills me! Just, you know, brushing her teeth :)
A little cousin park time, despite the cold cold weather.
When you want snuggles from Brooke, whip out your phone, haha. She looks exhausted, and so long!
We are not trying to potty train Brooke yet, but I did buy her this potty chair so she could get used to the idea. Ever since she was maybe 16 months old, she would say "poop poop" when she was pooping. I always knew because her face would turn red since she was dealing with constipation. I figured I should capitalize on the fact that she was telling me when she was pooping, so I bought one of those potty rings to go on the regular toilet. That totally freaked her out, so we went with a little potty chair. As you can see, she thinks it is great. She has peed on it once, and pooped on it once or twice, but that's about it. It makes for a nice place to read books though :)
Her expression kills me! Love this little character.
