We attended the Reliant Lights Your Holidays event in Dallas and it was a wet, rainy night. But as we waited for our friends to arrive, we caught Santa and Mrs. Claus coming out of the elevator and snagged an amazing picture with them.
We had invited Craig (Kevin's boss) and Cheri Sharp and their family to join us, but we never imagined the weather would be so crummy. We felt bad, but really, what can you do? We just tried to make the most of it, haha. We walked over to Clyde Warren Park where we planned on eating dinner from the food trucks. Since crowds were MUCH lighter than usual, we were invited into the VIP area for the Nutcracker performance, which included free food and drinks while we watched the youth perform. We sampled the Voodoo Donuts and a few hors d'oeuvres, but we were getting drenched out there, so we decided to find a real restaurant.
Craig and his family are pretty big foodies, so we let them pick and eventually headed over to a pizzeria nearby. Well, that turned into quite a walk, but we made it and enjoyed some yummy pizza together. Then we went back to the Reliant event and stood in line for the snow area where our kids had a pretty epic snowball fight with Tolen and his girlfriend.
And we ended the night with the fireworks display...
We were very wet by the end of the night and Colby was mad at himself for wearing his cowboy boots because they looked completely ruined, but memories were definitely made.
