We got back from camping on Tuesday and were up early on Wednesday to head to Grandma and Papa's house for Pie Day :) Grandma gave them all a personalized pie plate and several of the kids commented that they were too pretty to use.
Somehow Grandma got wind that not everybody really loved her pie crust recipe (myself included, but I don't really love pie in general and I wasn't the one that said anything), so we still did a few of the old recipe, but threw in a few graham cracker crusts as well.
I love watching the kids go through all the steps with Grandma...
Emery requested that we make a peanut butter chocolate pie, which was definitely not on the agenda, haha, but I ran over to Market Street to get the supplies because it sounded pretty good.
Colby likes to be in charge of the banana pudding pie.
The completed pies! We ended up with chocolate pudding, banana pudding, peanut butter with an Oreo crust and Reese's on top, pumpkin, and pecan.
When we were in between steps, the kids set the Thanksgiving table...
And they always find time to play outside! These kids are the luckiest to grow up together.
Watching them play outside and create their own fun in the backyard is my favorite.
Thanksgiving Day started out with a Turkey Bowl for these two...
We always take a family pic on Thanksgiving, but I snuck in a few cousin pics as well. Colby ran off after the first one, but the girls were feeling sassy.
Since we were all dressed and ready, it turned into a whole photo shoot!
Colby and Kevin are still feeling their new boots, so we had to get a foot shot :)Grandma prepared a whole "12 Days of Christmas" sing-along, followed by an early Christmas present for the kids...
The ping pong table was a BIG hit among the kids and adults.
Then it was off to the kitchen to finish all the preparations for a yummy meal...
The table was set...
The turkey was carved...
The yams/marshmallows were toasted to perfection...
And the spread was complete...
I'm so thankful to live near family and to have the opportunity to spend holidays together! We always enjoy the time we spend together and I love the memories and traditions we have created over the years.
