spring break

The rest of Spring Break was spent enjoying time with friends and family. We always go to Lynn Creek Park during Spring Break, so even though we had to wear jackets this time, we still made it happen!  We were so happy to have lots of friends join us as well.  And I was secretly happy that the chilly water kept my kids on the beach and out of the water.

These two can definitely pester each other, but when I see them walk towards the beach like this, my heart is reminded that sibling squabbles are all just part of growing up.  They will have each other's backs forever!
Some new friends joined us and Brooke took care of sweet Beverly the entire time.  She is going to be the very best babysitter out there!  I also love that we still have the tiny pink watering can Brooke used when she was a toddler.
Colby's most recent invention...
Kevin put his old rollerblade wheels on Colby's blades a few weeks ago, so I guess he figured putting his scooter wheels on his skateboard was a good idea :) This boy is always tinkering, which Kevin says he did as a kid as well.

Harvey and Frost came to play for an all-day playdate and my kids were thrilled. Lots of pretend play, a little perler bead action, lunch, and outdoor fun.
Brooke was on a major perler bead kick, and although I love them all, my favorites are the princess and turtle.
Colby's creations...
We made green pancakes for St. Patrick's Day...
Grandma and Papa offered to keep the kids overnight so that Kevin and I could have a weekend date.  The cousins even joined them for an afternoon of games and a date to Mod Pizza, but they were the only ones who stayed the night at their house.
They made treats with Grandma, and watched a movie after their pizza outing.
While the kids were away, we enjoyed dinner at Salt Grass (with our gift card from Uncle Tom), and a temple outing on Saturday morning.
We met up with everyone at Aubrey's soccer game, but I was quite surprised to see my kids and a few adults running out on the field.  Apparently, there was some sort of scheduling conflict and they didn't have an opponent, but everyone enjoyed the impromptu scrimmage.  Brooke even scored a goal with an assist from Aubrey!
A little In-N-Out after soccer...
We were right by Scheels, so decided to check it out.  If you've never been, it's like a gigantic sporting goods store with a Ferris wheel inside and out.  But Brooke wanted nothing to do with this taxidermied bear, especially after seeing the giraffe (which honestly made Colby and I sad as well.)
What a great break from school!  Nobody was really ready to head back...
