joyschool

This sweet boy started Joyschool with friends from the ward, and he was super excited for his first day!  I think he was most excited to go play with his friend Jones, but he was super cute about the whole thing.  Jones' mom, Kiley, was the one that initiated this group, and hosted the first day at her house.  The other kids in the group are Marlie Hawkins, Whitney Danielson, Benjamin Jimenez, and Isaac Baker (cousin of Whitney). We didn't but an official Joyschool curriculum, but we do have some songs that we will all sing at the beginning, as well as some folder activities to have some consistency among the group.  Each mom will choose what she wants to focus on, and we'll see how it all goes :)

When Colby saw the clothes I brought downstairs for him to wear, he immediately said, "I don't want to wear that church shirt." It was just a button-up shirt, but since he does typically wear it to church, that was a no-go, haha.  He went and picked out his OWN shirt, and I thought he looked awfully handsome.  He was totally into taking pictures, which was adorable. The toe pose and arm folding were all his ideas!

It's pretty crazy to think that my little guy is growing up, but I think this will be a good balance of structure and fun for him until he starts preschool next year.  My hope for him is that he has fun learning with friends, and learns to play and get along even better with peers.  Kiley said that the kids just wanted to play together, so she let them play for the last 45 minutes.  Colby wasn't ready to leave when I came to get him, which was a good sign!
