A week or so before Father's Day, Papa began hinting around that he wanted a new swing for his backyard. We did some Amazon shopping, and the Peacocks and our family went in on this fun disk swing. Papa was thrilled! Kevin helped scope out the backyard looking for the perfect tree for the swing, and they eventually settled on one near the edge of the old fence line . The only problem was that the A-frame ladder wasn't quite tall enough to reach the desired branch. Jeff has some height on Kevin, but even he couldn't safely reach the top. Then someone suggested a painter's ladder. You know, the kind that goes straight up?? I was totally nervous, but Jeff steadied the ladder as Kevin climbed up and secured it to the branch.
It became very obvious that the swing's ropes wouldn't be long enough, but nothing that some additional chain couldn't fix :) It definitely didn't stop the kids from having fun! They either climbed up the A-frame ladder themselves, or had one of the dads lift them up.
I see lots of fun swing adventures in their future, especially when they are able to climb on it themselves, haha!
