I thought both of the costumes were beautiful, but the tap one was my favorite. Brooke totally posed herself for this picture, which makes me love it even more.
Our graceful little ballerina...
The actual recital went so well, despite my fears that Brooke would get nervous. At dress rehearsal, they informed us that the girls would need a lot more makeup on so that we would see their faces in the bright lights. It felt strange to put so much makeup on a little girl, but she looked beautiful and we could actually see her features from the audience.
She was feeling a bit under the weather during the dress rehearsal the day before, and I was worried that she wouldn't feel up to performing. She surprised us all, and didn't have any problems performing on that huge stage in front of a very packed audience. Grandma came to watch (Papa was stuck at home with his foot issues), as well as Adrienne Murray and her girls! Brooke looks up to those girls so much, and since they are all dancers as well, she felt pretty special!
We ordered the DVD, so we'll be able to see her performance for years to come. The whole production was really cool, and Brooke loved watching the older girls perform their acts. After each solo, she would ask when she would get to perform by herself, haha. We planned on taking a break from lessons for the summer, and start back up in the Fall, but Brooke kept saying she didn't want to go back. Not sure what that was all about, but I didn't want to force the lessons, so we just backed off.
