flower mound pumpkin patch

We love our annual trip to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch, and it was especially fun since Emery was SO excited about all of the characters.  We always take a picture up front before the kids get disheveled, but we did make an exception for this picture by the Little Einstein crew :)
Grandma wasn't able to join us at the beginning because she was visiting Papa at the hospital, but thankfully she joined us later on.
I need to do a comparison post with pics over the years, but this is definitely one of our top Fall traditions and I love seeing how much the kids grow each year.
We've been going to this same pumpkin patch since Brooke was 4 months old, and they almost didn't open this year!  I saw a post on Facebook stating that they wouldn't open this year since they couldn't get enough volunteers and people in the community started expressing how disappointed they were because they had been going there for years.  Comments started pouring in that they would volunteer or do anything needed to make it happen, but the owner responded that although she was grateful, it was too late because they hadn't ordered any of the pumpkins or hay bales required.  She had asked for help months prior, but she couldn't get enough support.  Well, I have no idea what happened, but a few days later, she posted again saying that they would open once again!! We were thrilled, and I think people realized that this gem of a place actually does require community support !!  (They only charge $10 per car and all activities are included, so they aren't making much money.)

After our mandatory pictures, we wandered among all the characters.
We haven't taken pictures by this sign every year, but most years I remember :)
We couldn't forget about all the wooden vehicles...
They all loved the large hay maze, and they even helped some of the littler kids who couldn't find their way out.
We visited the little pumpkin house...
And took a very dusty ride on the tractor-drawn hay ride...
The kids spent quite a while on this giant hay pile, and Brooke was proud to be the first one to the top!
Then Grandma showed up and watched all the climbing.
We had to get one picture with Grandma, and then she let the kids pick out their miniature pumpkins.
It's really sweet to watch them meticulously pick out which pumpkins they like best :)
Emery might have been the pickiest and kept changing her mind, haha.
We definitely enjoyed our day together, but as the temperature started creeping up, the adults were ready to head to lunch and get out of the dust and heat!
We hope to be back again next year!!
