spring break

Started out Spring Break with a sleepover at Grandma and Papa's house.  They did crafts, played outside, watched a movie, and rode the go-karts.  They had an absolute blast and weren't ready to leave when I picked them up, haha.
We carried on the tradition of spending some time at Country Critters in Alvaredo. It felt like 40 degrees with the wind chill, but we still managed to have a great time.  I think the cold kept people away, which was quite convenient for us.
They always love the pony rides...
Brushing the goats...
And groomed the longhorn...
This is too funny not the share.  This goat was isolated from the rest because he "hates people" according to the farm helper.  But apparently he also liked to irritate the other farm animals.  The gigantic pig didn't even move as the goat walked all over him.
Then they moved on to Barrell Train rides...
Playground fun...
Hay ride, which was extremely slow and freezing!
And duck races, which are always entertaining for the kids...

Until next time!!
Our last minute lake day with cousins was the perfect way to end our Spring Break.  The water was freezing, but the kids were begging to get in, so we let them.
It's been a few years since they have played together at the beach, so it was really fun to watch them together.  Mel and I just soaked up the sun and chatted for hours while the kids played.
They piled in the car for a final goodbye :)  I just love their smiling faces.
Every good thing comes to an end, but at least we have the weekend to enjoy before we jump back into school.
