Pedaling into the new year...
Walking into church and I noticed that the boys were opposite color matching...Headed to Grandma and Papa's house after church and enjoyed a fun afternoon together...
Cousin time truly is the BEST time...
They were sure dirty after their time outside, but I love that they can explore and play together forever.
We had some unusually warm weather, which allowed us to play tennis at Clayton Chandler park.
As the sun started setting, we took a walk on the trail and Brooke impressed me with her monkey bar skills...
On one of our last days of Christmas break, Brooke's friend Hope came for a Barbie play date. These kids could play Barbies for HOURS!
Brooke started Activity Days! I can;t quite believe that she's old enough for this, but she was definitely excited. Although she wishes they were in-person, she's really enjoying it. They always sing "I Will Walk With Jesus" at the close of each activity and that is MY very favorite part. I feel the Spirit so strongly as those sweet girls sing virtually
An after-school stop to play in the sand. I remember it being really cold that day, but Colby was still happy to sit and play in the volleyball sand. And then it snowed!!! We couldn't believe it. We haven't had any snow for a few years, so it's always a cause for excitement.
We were about to start virtual church when the snow started to fall, but since we had no idea how long the snow would actually last, we let the kids go play in the backyard and joined church a few minutes late.
Then went out to play as soon as church was over...It's not a real snow day until you make an angel...
Brooke's angel...Then we warmed up by a crackling fire...
The next day, the only remains of our snow day was this dirty snow ball stack, haha...
We did some baking...
Some family tree searching (thanks to a Primary challenge to find famous people you are related to)...
And we bought this handsome boy his first suit...
When I saw it at Nordstrom Rack, I asked Colby if he wanted to try it on. He was totally into it and it fit him perfectly. I wasn't sure if it made sense to spend $65 on a suit he would outgrow within a year or two, but you could tell he felt so special in that suit! I told him we would buy the suit and talk to Daddy about it. I also found some really cool brown loafers for $7, which I told him he could definitely keep. The whole drive home from the mall he begged me for the suit. I repeatedly told him that we needed to talk to Daddy about it. Without missing a beat, he said, "Can you call Daddy right now because I want to wear it to get Brooke from school." Hahaha, he really is a character. I told him that he definitely couldn't wear it to the school, he just needed to be patient.
That night, Colby proudly tried the suit on to show Daddy and Kevin quickly saw how excited Colby was about the whole prospect. He told Colby he could have the suit, but that he needed to ask extra special when he wore it. He definitely took that to heart :) As I helped him get dressed for church that work, he said, "I look like a missionary!" I couldn't have agreed more, and he was so reverent during Sacrament meeting, so I think there's power in the outfit!
Brooke was excited to get dressed up in her new dress as well, and completed the look with her pink fan.
I sure love these kids...
Took my princess to the park...
Our friend, Rachel Smith, brought us a cake for King's Day. Brooke was lucky enough to find the baby within the almond cake.
Colby kept himself busy while I worked on our "bathroom refresh." Who knew that an old fluorescent light cover would make such a good race track?
Just waiting for Brooke during her piano lesson...
Playdate with Jones and Harley Lundeen...
Cousin time at Grandma and Papa's house...
Creative time with Colby! He loved the pirate ship he created...
Getting some fresh air...
Used painter's tape to make a marble ring...
Discovered a love for grapefruit...
And this sweet girl brought me breakfast in bed for no apparent reason...

This month was a busy one, but I love looking back and seeing the little memories that make this life beautiful.
