rodeo with the goettmans

I don't remember what initially spurred this double family date, but we went to the rodeo with the Goettmans at the end of August. We met up for lunch at In-N-Out before the rodeo and I loved the kid table :)
I was a little underwhelmed with the actual rodeo, but we still had a fun night and enjoyed getting in our rodeo get-up.  Colby was a little disappointed that he was the only one in our family without boots, so Kevin found him an amazing pair on Facebook Marketplace and I was able to pick them up that afternoon.  To say that he was pumped would be an understatement.  He didn't take those things off for nearly 3 days and most definitely wore them to church the next day.

But the funniest thing of the night was the shirt he was wearing. It belonged to Kevin was he was younger, and when Colby came downstairs wearing the shirt, Kevin said, "I had a shirt like that when I was a kid."  I thought he was pulling my leg at first, but when I realized that he was making a genuine comment about a shirt he "used to have", I started cracking up.  I told him that it WAS his shirt, haha.  Sometimes it pays off when your mom saves everything :)
Brooke was really feeling her boots, Kevin's hat, and her cute outfit.  She is definitely my Texas girl :) And Beverly is pretty adorable as well.
We arrived pretty early to look around and check everything out...
Colby and Gordon participated in a sheep event where a massive group of kids all try to grab the ribbon off a few sheep. It was total chaos (like you might imagine), but by some miracle, the boys stayed together and we were reconnected with them at the end.
Brooke made me the cutest bracelet set for the rodeo...
It was a semi-fun evening, but Kevin and I joked that we filled our rodeo bucket for at least the next few years!
