zoo with friends

At the very end of December, my friend Rachel coordinated a play date at the Dallas zoo.  It was a beautiful day, but I wasn't prepared for the 45 minute wait to park in an overflow lot!  Since my kids aren't in school yet, I hadn't thought about the fact that it was Christmas break.  The zoo was pretty crowded, but we still had a fun time.

As soon as we got home, Brooke wanted to draw with chalk.  She was super excited to show me the koala she had drawn. If I remember correctly, koalas are only awake for a few hours a day.  We had seen them climbing around on their branches, which clearly had an impact on my girl!
