He had a football game that morning, followed by Brooke's volleyball game, and we ended the day with a football birthday party. Also, fun fact about Colby is that he doesn't like cake or cupcakes, so we picked up donuts after his game that morning. I had mentioned to the shop owner that they were for my son's birthday, so when I picked up his order she had a special box ready for him! He was thrilled and I was grateful for the thoughtful gesture!
He opened a few presents before his party as well...
Colby's team consisted of Edmund and Eli Hibbert, Jackson and Oliver Lindberg, and Noah Campos.
The other team was Brooke, Kinely and Aubrey Peacock, Taden Hibbert, and Carter, Marlie, & Brock Hawkins.
It was so fun to watch them all play together and I loved that my nieces played even though I'm sure they had never played football before.
I adore this picture of the huddle and the side glance!
Kevin was the referee for the event...
The whole gang...
We followed up with pizza, salad, and donuts...
And of course, all the kids tried to pile into the back of Kevin's truck...
Don't count candles because I only had 7 of the sparklers, haha. But he is most definitely 9 years old :)
He then opened gifts and ended the night with a jammed thumb...
Noah's mom (an athletic trainer) took a look at it and just recommended ice and movement, so that's what we did.
At the end of the night, I realized that we never took a cousin pic (tradition) or a family pic, so we took a few in the total dark and hoped for the best. I love how moody they turned out!!
He opened a few more presents inside the house with cousins and finally called it a night. As I put him to bed that night, he told me all about how much he loved the day and especially his party, so my Mama heart was happy. We love and adore this kid so much.
