in love.

I recently made my first craigslist purchase and I am in love. I have been looking at furniture/design blogs for several months now and I have discovered that I really love certain vintage-looking pieces. I also discovered that I prefer light furniture...hence the reason I started painting the cherry wood entertainment center 2 months ago, haha. It is all primed and ready for the paint, but we have had other projects monopolizing our time.

Anyway, in my craigslist searching, I came across this secretary desk and I knew right away that it was the one. What really sealed the deal was when I called the owner and Trudy answered with a British accent. For some reason, that made my first purchase a little more fun. I figured there might be a fun story behind it. She didn't know who made the piece, but it turned out that Trudy ran a consignment shop for 14 years so she came across lots of interesting things and always had first pick of the treasures :)

So, Kevin and I embarked on a little adventure to a city we had never been to before, met Trudy, made a little bargain, and headed home with a new piece of furniture. I am a super excited. The downstairs bedroom is going to be a library/den/office of sorts. Next on the purchase list is bookshelves. Oh, and we finally finished the floors last weekend. New post to come!!
